Death of Etward Braland
Edward Braland was born on a farm one and one-half miles east of Randall May 17, 1867, and died August 23, at the Story county Home. He was at his death 65 years and 3 months old. Mr. Braland, whose parents were Ole and Rachel Braland spent his youth and manhood on his father's farm. For some years he lived in Story City. About 12 years ago he was taken to the Story county Home where he spent the latter years of his life. He leaves to mourn his passing his stepmother, Mrs. Anna Braland, also two half brothers and five half sisters, namely, Rasmus Braland, Mrs Elsie Olson and Ellen Braland all of Randall; Martin Braland of New London, Minn., Mrs. Louis Henderson of Des Moines, Mrs. Ed Dietz of Slayton, Minn., and Mrs. Rude of Ellsworth. Funeral services were conducted Saturday at North St. Petri church, Rev. G O Paulsrud in charge. Burial was made in the east cemetery.

Edward is buried at Mamrelund Cemetery, Randall. His stone reads, " E. Braland 1932"
