LaVone Maxine Malcolm, 80, of Ames died Wednesday, August 6, at Mary Greeley Medical Center. Memorial services were held at 1:30 p.m Monday, August 11, at Adams Funeral Home with Rev. Fred Lewis of First United Methodist Church officiating. Visitation was one-half hour prior to the service.

LaVone Maxine Malcolm, was born October 25, 1927 to Cleo and Agatha (McKenna) McColly in Ames.

LaVone was a 1945 graduate of Ames High School. November 2, 1947 she married Dale Malcolm of Kelley. To this marriage came their daughter, Annalesa.

LaVone worked for Wilson Transfer co. for many years before working at Job Services in Ames where she retired from. She and Dale spent many winters in Texas until they bought a place and spent many more years until last year because of her health.

She is survived by her husband, Dale; daughter, Annalesa (Jim) Drummond; granddaughters, Nichelle [spelling is correct] (Shane) Hall and DeAnne (Mark) Hoefer; great grandchildren Madison and Isaac Hall; and step grat grandson, Dylan Hoefer.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cleo and Agatha McColly; great grandson Elijah Hall; and many aunts and uncles.

Adams Funeral Home and Cremation Service is assisting the family with arrangements.
