David McGlynn, age 52, of Boone, died September 8, 2008, at the Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. A Funeral Mass will be Friday, September 12, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of the Sacred Heart in Boone. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Boone.

Dave was born in Boone on March 4, 1956. Dave was an unloading crew foreman for Madden Trucking in Boone.

Dave is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by two brothers, James McGlynn and wife Gretchen of Webster City and Daniel McGlynn and partner Gerard Donahoe of Washington, D.C.; a sister, Mary McGlynn Burns of Marshalltown; a nephew, John Burns and wife Haley of Ankeny; nieces, Sarah McGlynn of Marion, Molly McGlynn of Cedar Rapids, Meredith McGlynn of Eagle Grove, and Kathleen Burns Finn and husband Mark of Green Bay, Wisconsin; and a great nephew, Colin Finn of Green Bay.

Friends may call Thursday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Schroeder Memorial Chapel at Sixth and Marshall in Boone where a Vigil service will be at 6:00 p.m. and the family will be present from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Visitation continues Friday at the funeral chapel from 8:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Memorials may be given to the Sacred Heart Church, the American Heart Association, or to the family.
