Wanda L. Draves, 82, Blairsburg, died Monday, Aug. 4, 2008 at Windsor Manor Assisted Living in Webster City. Private family burial was held at the Blairsburg Cemetery on Aug. 9, 2008 with Gunderson Funeral Home in charge of services and Pastor Gerald Caquelin officiated. A private memorial service with family and friends was held Aug. 23, 2008 at Windsor Manor with Pastor Gerald Caquelin officiating.

Wanda Lenore Bryan was born Sept. 19, 1925 on a farm near Williams in Hamilton County, the daughter of Ray E. and Nilla (McCary) Bryan. She attended school and graduated from Williams High School in 1943. She worked for several area families until marrying. On Feb. 19, 1949, Wanda married Floyd Draves at the First Presbyterian Parsonage in Fort Dodge. They lived near Williams and Kamrar. Wanda worked as a sales clerk in Webster City at several stores while Floyd was in military service. In 1953, they moved northwest of Blairsburg on the family farm. Wanda enjoyed making a home for her family, tending her garden, playing the organ and making beautiful quilts. Due to failing health, she moved in June 2008 to Windsor Manor in Webster City, which she thoroughly enjoyed and called home.
