Doris N. Royster, 93, of Fort Dodge, died Saturday, August 9, 2008, at the Fort Dodge Villa Care Center. Services will be 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 12, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Fort Dodge. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. The visitation is Monday, August 11, 2008, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Gunderson Funeral Home in Fort Dodge.

Doris N. Kuesterer was born on March 2, 1915. The daughter of Henry and Marie (Jacobson) Kuesterer, she grew up in Duncombe, Iowa and graduated from Duncombe High School. On January 1, 1935, she was united in marriage to Floyd W. Royster in Rutland, Iowa. They were married 56 years prior to his death in November of 1991.

Doris was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Fort Dodge. In her younger years, she was active in local and county 4-H activities. She also enjoyed card club and volunteering at her church. However, her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Her family includes her two sons, Don (Gene) Royster, Duncombe, Iowa; Dennis (Carol) Royster, Bettendorf, Iowa; her five grandchildren, Terri (Terry) McMahon, Kathy (Rich) Ticknor, Mike (Stacie) Royster, Kristine (Justin) Teitle and Kent (Christie) Royster; two step-grandchildren, Mike (Sharon) Symens and Cheryl (Tony) Nessa; eight great-grandchildren, five step-great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her daughter Mary Jo, her sisters, Kathryn Pederson and Mavis Kuesterer and her brother Beauford Kuesterer.
