Mrs. Leroy Marcus Passed Away

Johanna Josephine, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ole Braland, was born on a farm one and a half miles east of Randall, on December 5, 1897, and died February 21, 1926, at her home, 4 miles north of Randall, at the age of 28 years, 2 months and 16 days, after an illness of two weeks. She was baptized and confirmed in the St. Petri Lutheran church.

She was united in marriage to M. LeRoy Marcus of Ellsworth, May 8, 1918.

She was a kind and loving wife and mother to her family and her passing was a heartbreaking blow to her husband and children, as well as to her mother.

Funeral services were held at the home at 1 o'clock and at 1:30 at the Lutheran church in Ellsworth on Feb. 25, 1926, conducted by Rev. Carl Naglestad.

She leaves to mourn her loss her husband and four children, Vernon, 7 years old; LeRoy Jr., 6; Merle, 3; and Marvin, 1 year old; her mother, Mrs. Anna Braland, two brothers, Rasmus of Randall and Martin of New London, Minn.; five sisters, Mrs. N. Olson of Randall, Mrs. Lewis Henderson of Des Moines, Ellen of Story City, Mrs. Ed Dietz of Roland and Mrs. Harry Rude of Ellsworth, and a host of other relatives and friends.
