OBITUARY

Julia Braland, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. (Rakkel) Ole Braland, was born in Scott township, December 31, 1871 and died at her home southeast of Randall, on July 8th, 1920; at the age of 48 years and six months.

On June 2, 1893 she was united in marriage to Ole Thompson, and to this union six children were born, five of whom still survives, one having passed away in infancy. The living children are Olive, Julius, and Lizzie, at home, one daughter at Ames and one at Marshalltown. Her husband, three brothers and six sisters also survive.

She was a believer in the Lutheran faith and passed away very peacefully and contented to go and meet her Jesus. How good both in life and in death to have a friend like Jesus. She has been ill for the past year with tuberculosis. Funeral services were held Monday, July 12, at the house at 1:30 o'clock and at the church at Randall at 2:00 o'clock, conducted by Rev. G.O. Paulsrud. Interment was made in Olson cemetery, southeast of town.
