MRS. ANNA BRALAND

Mrs. Anna Braland was born at Vikedal, Norway, June 9, 1862 and died at her home two miles southeast of Randall on March 22, 1939, at the age of 77 years.

In 1884 she came to Hamilton county, Iowa. Two years later she was united in marriage to Ole Braland, and for many years made her home on the old homestead of Ole Braland, one and one-half miles east of Randall.

She became the mother of ten children, of whom three have preceded her in death. Those who remain and mourn the passing of a dear mother are Rasmus Braland of Ellsworth, Martin Braland of New London, Minn., Mrs. Elsie Olson of Randall, Mrs. Minnie Henderson of Des Moines, Ellen Braland of Randall, Mrs. Lizzie Dietz of Woolsey, S.D., Mrs. Elvira Rude of Jewell. She also leaves 32 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Her husband passed away on April 17, 1916. Since her husband's death her daughter, Ellen, has lived with her and taken good care of her. Mrs. Braland was old member of the North St. Petri church, were she worshipped faithfully as long as she was able.

She was buried from her home and the North St. Petri church on March 27, with Rev. G.O. Paulsrud as the officiating pastor. She was laid at rest at the Mamrelund cemetery. The pallbearers were B.M. Grimsley, Osmund Mortvedt, Albert Henderson, A. Matson, Andrew Michelson and Arthur Anderson.
