Eva Bloomquist, 86, of Webster City, died Thursday, July 24, 2008 at Mary Greeley Medical Center at Ames. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 28, 2008 at Faith United Methodist Church, with Rev. Remigio Panlaqui and Pastor Gina Spohnheimer officiating. Burial was in the Graceland Cemetery. Arrangements were made with the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center.

Eva Marie Halliday, daughter of James and Hazel Russell Halliday, was born July 24, 1922 at Highview. She attended rural schools in the Highview area and graduated from Lincoln High at Webster City in 1940. On February 14, 1945, she married Norman Albert Bloomquist at the Little Brown Church at Nashua. The couple farmed near Flugstad. In 1973, they moved to Duncombe. She was a homemaker and also helped with farming operations. Norman died March 31, 2005. Eva is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce and Russell Harms of Duncombe; Nancy and Brad Iles of Webster City; eight grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 2 step great-grandchildren; brother, Robert Halliday of Webster City; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; daughters, Suzanne Fleshman and Kathy Bloomquist, in infancy; brother, John Halliday.

She was a member of the Duncombe United Methodist Church, Faith Circle of Faith United Methodist, Quilters of Faith Methodist, Hamilton Hospital Auxiliary Gift Shop Lehigh Quilting Group and Duncombe American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing cards, visiting, e-mailing, traveling, fishing, baking and telling jokes.
