Thelma Frances (Lee) McFarland, 89, passed away on Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at Mt. Carmel Nursing Home in South Milwaukee, Wis. She was born on May 10, 1919 in Webster City, Iowa the daughter of Albert and Elma (Stoeterau) Lee. On May 6, 1939 Thelma was united in marriage to Donald E. McFarland. She was a graduate of Webster City High School. A member of Olympia Brown Unitarian Universalist Church for many years and the Hammer, part of the Racine Geological Society. Thelma had many interests; she enjoyed arts and crafts, playing card games, jigsaw puzzles and reading. She also loved all kinds of music, visiting museums and traveling. Thelma especially enjoyed her visits from Rev. Tony Larsen.

Surviving are two sons, Donald (Michele) McFarland of Colgate and Michael (Jude) McFarland of Waukesha; daughter, Kathleen (Gerald) Stevick of Marshalltown, IA; four grandchildren, Brian (Kim) McFarland, Tyler and Travis (Allison) Stevick and Stephanie (Mike) Venturella; five great grandchildren, Cassidy, Bailey, Nichole, Christopher and Maria. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Thelma was preceded in death by her husband, Donald on March 24, 1994; son, Daniel on March 14, 1987, sisters, Patricia Lee and Viera Lee.

Funeral services will be held at Sturino Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Caledonia Memorial Park. There will be a visitation at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until time of service.

Memorials to the VFW Post of your choice or Easter Seal Society have been suggested
