Marcus Milton Fuhrman, age 59, died on Tuesday, April 29, 2008 after a most remarkable battle with cancer. He was surrounded by loved ones at his home in Big Water, Utah. Born February 8, 1949 in Lodi, California to Marianne Catherine Seeley and Harry Joseph Fuhrman. He married Peggy Anne Ankrum on March 1, 1980 in Death Valley, California.

Life was an adventure for Marcus who considered every day a gift (EDAG). He was a life-long learner, always reading, writing, and teaching. He enjoyed theater, music (just ask his former students!), fishing, boats, and cars and was a handyman, willing to tackle any project. Most of all, he was a loving husband, father, son, brother, teacher, and friend to many.

The following is an excerpt from his blogspot www.marcusgettingbetterallthetime.blogspot.com

“Whoa, I just glanced up and I see the brightest red glowing sunrise above Navajo Mountain to the east of our house, a wide flat vermillion layer of ocean clouds covers all the eastern sky, from overhead to the horizon. I feel like I want to climb into those clouds suck in their warmth and traverse the world with them for the rest of the day, they look so inviting. I can see my body stretched out and relaxed as the wind that shapes their beauty. As I covered the globe I'd cry out, wake up world, time to warm up and watch beauty greet your morning. Then I'd fall back onto the cloud bed, close my eyes, breath deeply and sleep like a forgotten sunrise, ignorant of my cancer and the pains, tensions, medications, chemos, doctors, and hundreds of other details that have become a part of our lives. See, I'd have Peggy there beside me as well.”

Marcus is survived by his wife Peggy of Big Water, children; Amanda Fuhrman of Big Water and Wesley (Alena) Fuhrman of St. Paul, Minnesota, mother Marianne Fuhrman of Petaluma, California, siblings; Harry (Mary) Fuhrman Jr, Peter (Richard) Fuhrman, Julie (Paul) Klopping, Charles (Mary) Fuhrman, Kurt (Laura) Fuhrman, Emily (Steve) Warn, and Alec (Londa) Fuhrman, Ankrum in-laws, many nieces and nephews and "like grandchildren", Maddox and Gracie Talker. He was preceded in death by his father, Harry Joseph Fuhrman.

Marcus considered the many benefits (Iowa, Page, and Grand Canyon) to be his "Tom Sawyer Farewell". A potluck celebration of his life will be held at Shoshone Point at the Grand Canyon (South Rim) on Thursday afternoon-evening, June 26. Please check the internet for a map.
