Roger D. Sielaff, 62, Webster City

Roger D. Sielaff, 62, of Webster City, died Saturday, April 12, 2008 at his home. Memorial services will be held Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at the Foster Funeral & Cremation Center with Rev. Bob Miller officiating. Military Rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post#191 of Webster City. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Roger Darrell Sielaff, son of Darrell and Doris Whitesell Sielaff was born June 26, 1945 in Iowa Falls, Iowa. He was raised in rural Buckeye and graduated from Alden High School in 1963. He was employed for 32 years at Cargill in Iowa Falls until his retirement in 1998. On November 2, 1996, he married Rose Naeve in Alden. The couple resided in Webster City.

In addition to his wife Rose, he is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law, Trenton Sielaff of Webster City, Troy and Amy Sielaff of Gladstone, MO; daughter and son-in-law, Tully and Joey Jackson of West Des Moines; stepson, Tom Van Overmeer of Fort Knox, KY; 5 grandchildren, 1 step grandson; sisters and brothers-in-law, Judy and Ron Hankom of Hampton, Janet and David Kyle of Virginia; brothers, Dennis Sielaff of Hubbard, David and Cynthia Sielaff of Idaho.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents.

He was a member of the United Church of Christ in Alden. Roger was also a member of the VFW Post #1856 in Fort Dodge and a member of the Moose Lodge #735 in Webster City. He volunteered his service to take veterans to the Veterans Hospital in Des Moines for there medical treatment. Roger enjoyed playing Cribbage with his friends and family. He loved seeing and talking to his grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Veterans Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa
