Alan Valde, age 54, of Ellsworth, Iowa died in a single vehicle accident early Sunday morning. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, December 27, 2007 at Ellsworth United Methodist Church in Ellsworth, IA, with Rev. Brian McNamara. Burial will be in the Buckeye Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Wednesday evening at Ellsworth United Methodist Church in Ellsworth. Family will be present from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.

Alan Eugene Valde was born on August 10, 1953 in Story City, Iowa. He was the younger of two sons born to Paul and Vera (Trende) Valde. He was baptized and confirmed in the Ellsworth United Methodist Church in Ellsworth, Iowa. Alan grew up in Ellsworth, Iowa. He attended Ellsworth Consolidated School and graduated from South Hamilton High School with the Class of 1971. After high school, he attended ISU.

A variety of jobs allowed him to work in a number of locations across the U.S. He was a boilermaker for many years working up and down the east coast. Poor health forced him to come home to Ellsworth three years ago. Alan was a true outdoorsman, an ambitious hunter and fisherman. He especially enjoyed taking his Dad fishing on his boat in the Delaware Bay. Alan was killed in a single vehicle automobile accident near Jewell, Iowa on Sunday morning December 23, 2007.

Those remaining to cherish his memory include his parents Paul and Vera Valde of Ellsworth, Iowa; one brother Michael Valde and his wife Jill of Coralville, Iowa; one niece Katherine Jillian also of Coralville, Iowa; along with many other relatives and friends.
