Daryl Plain, 78, Webster City, died Friday, April 20, 2007 at Hamilton Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Webster City, with Rev. Ed Ward officiating. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday and one hour prior to services Tuesday at the church. Graveside services will be in the Storm Lake City Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday with VFW military rites.

Daryl Dwight Edward Plain, son of Carl Helena Simons Plain, was born Dec. 27, 1928 at Odebolt. On Aug. 21, 1953, he married Darlene Neagle at Mallard. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army in November of 1953. The couple moved to Webster City in the early 1960s, where he was employed by Hahne Printing for several years. Mr. Plain was a resident of Crestview Senior Living for over 4 years.

Mr. Plain is survived by his wife, Darlene; son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Brenda Plain, Webster City; son Daryl “Buck” Plain, Webster City; daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Jeff West of Stanhope; daughter, Darla Heller of Wausau, Wis.; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, Darmyn Plain of Marshalltown; two sisters, Caryl Lauver, Twin Lakes, and Norma Hanssen of Pomeroy.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Daryl Plain memorial fund.
