Eugene King Dies at 27

Eugene D. King, 27, died at 12:25 a.m. today at the Veterans Hospital in Des Moines where he had been a patient since July 2. He had been in ill health for several months.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Congregational-Christian church in Blairsburg, preceded by a brief service at 1 p.m. at the Foster Funeral Home.

Burial will be made in the Liberty Center cemetery.

Eugene Dale King, son of Edward and Nellie King, was born February 3, 1930, on a farm near Kamrar. He was educated in the Blairsburg schools and was graduated with the class of 1947.

He was united in marriage Dec. 26, 1951, to Irene Meyering. He entered the armed service in September, 1951, and was discharged in May of 1953. Following his discharge, Mr. and Mrs. King started farming near Kamrar.

He is survived by his wife and one son, Duane, 2 1/2, and by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward King, Kamrar; and three sisters, Mrs. Edna Sands, Webster City, Mrs. Don (Leona) Greenfield, Kamrar, and Mrs. Kermit (Arlene) Klaver of Blairsburg.

Mr. King was a member of the Congregational-Christian church at Blairsburg, and was also a member of the American Legion.
