WELL KNOW PIONEER RESIDENT PASSES AWAY

William Wisely Hyatt Dies This Morning at 7 o’clock at His Home 1117 Second Street after Long Illness With Heart Trouble.

William Wisely Hyatt, a well know early day resident of Hamilton county, passed away thing morning at seven o’clock at his home, 1117 Second street, after a several months illness with heart trouble. He was a little past seventy-three years of age, having been born in Knox County, Ohio, February 7, 1850.

Mr. Hyatt was one of the early day settlers of Hamilton County and was proprietor of a restaurant in this city for years, some thirty-five or forty years ago. Latter he was identified with various other interests, having been a grocer for several years. Of later years he was in the nursery business.

He is survived by his faithful wife and two daughters, another daughter having passed away about two weeks ago. The daughters surviving are: Mrs. Cora Chipman and Mrs. A.J. Busick, both residing near Mankato, Minn, who have been here in the city for over a month. He is mourned also by several brothers and sisters. One brother, I.W. Hyatt, a former mayor of this city, resides here, while A.H. Hyatt, for years a resident of this city, now of Fort Dodge, also survives. Abe Hyatt, for years a Webster City resident, now of San Jose, Cal., is also living. There are three sisters Mrs. Laura Milburn, Des Moines; Mrs. H. E. Boyd, of near Stratford and Mrs. Mary Simmons, living in Washington.

Mr. Hyatt was for years a devoted member of the I.O.O.F. in which he held various offices.

The funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 3 o’clock at the home on west Second street, conducted by Rev. W.H. Garfield, pastor of the Baptist church. Burial will be in Graceland cemetery.
