Loren Jacoson

Loren M. Jacobson, 51, a lifelong South Hamilton area resident, died Saturday, April 14, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 17 at 10:30 a.m. at the Bethesda Lutheran Church in Jewell, Rev. Lee Laaveg officiating. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery, Jewell. Becker Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Loren M. Jacoson was born April 19, 1938, in Hamilton County and was raised by Orville and Anna Jacobson. He attended Randall schools. He married Maxine Mechaelsen on May 28, 1960, at the Presbyterian Church in Kamrar. Mr. Jacobson served with the Iowa National Guard, and was assistant manager of the mail service at Iowa State University.

He is survived by his wife, Maxine, Jewell; two daughters, Lois Vidimos, Des Moines, and Susan Johnson, Story City; three brothers, Carroll Vespested, Belle Fourche, S.D.; Jerald Jacobson, Ellsworth; and Virgil Wilcox, Jewell; two sisters, Arlene Bragg, Independence, Mo.; Doris Rastetter, Jewell; and three grandchildren.

Mr. Jacobson was a member of the Bethesda Lutheran Church of Jewell.
