Private services have been conducted for Lyle O. Hamre, a Hawthorne (CA) resident for 40 years.

Lyle was born October 6, 1916, in Roland, Iowa, to Ben and Edna Hamre. He died October 23 from Parkinsons disease.

A former businessman of Hawthorne, he owned and operated the Western Auto Supply Store in Hawthorne for 18 years and was later employed at House of Yardage in Hawthorne. He was a charter member of the Hawthorne Elks Lodge.

Mr. Hamre is survived by his wife, Rena; one daughter, Kyla of Diamond Bar, California; 2 granddaughters and 3 great-grandchildren; a brother, Merle, of Orlando, Florida.
