Dorothy Hia, 76, Webster City, died of an apparent hear attach in her home. [February 20, 1990] Family committal services will be Monday at 11:00 a.m. at the Graceland Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church with Rev. Mark Buchhop officiating. Friends may call at the Foster Funeral Home after 4:00 p.m. Sunday.

Dorothy Irene Laugerman, the daughter of Oscar and Deana Welland Laugerman, was born April 11, 1913 on a farm near Williams. She graduated from Williams High School and attended Webster City Junior College. She also attended the State Teacher’s College at Cedar Falls and taught in rural schools in the Stratford and Williams area.

On October 21, 1939, she married Arnold Hia at Boone. The couple resided in the Webster City area where they operated a service station and farmed.

She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Burton Clover, Marshalltown; two grandchildren: Julie (Mrs. Scott) Meeks, Des Moines; and Chris Clover, Ames; one great grandson; three sisters and two brothers: Lucille Larwick, Ames; Delores (Mrs. Kenneth) Bishop, Pleasantville; Gladys (Mrs. Clifford) Dyvig and Harold Laugerman, both of Webster City; and Glen Laugerman, Minneapolis.

She was preceded in death by her husband; one daughter; her parents; and one brother.

She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and active in church work. She also was a member of the Senior Citizens; Webster City Women’s Club and R.S.V.P.
