Again, I found this Obit for Ellen Johnson mixed in with my family Obits. So fortunate that my Great-Grandmother saved so many.

Ellen Baakevig-Johnson, daughter of Bjorn and Susanna Bjoland, was born in Nestrand, Norway, November 8, 1843, and died at Sunset Home, Story City, Wednesday morning, June 10, 1936, at the age of 92 years, 7 months, and 2 days. She came to America May 8, 1875, coming first to Story County where she lived two years, and then to Hamilton County, where she lived on the farm until April 28, 1919, when she went to Sunset Home, she lived until her death.

The deceased was united in Marriage to Lars Johnson, February 25, 1877, in a church near Randall. Five children were born to this union, three of whom, preceded their mother in death. Mr. Johnson died May 21, 1902. Surviving children are Ben L. Johnson of Stanhope and Lewis M. Johnson, of Jewell; there is also one step-daughter, Mrs. Anna Benson, of Clarion, Iowa; also fifteen grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren.

Mrs. Johnson was baptized in the Lutheran faith in Norway, and was confirmed by the Rev. Dietrichson. At the time of her death she was a member of St. Paul’s Church. Her death was due to complications incident to her advanced age. By her passing, she leaves a host of old friends at Sunset Home in Story City.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at St. Paul’s Lutheran church, conducted by Rev. Hans Oppedahl. Six grandsons served as pall-bearers; Byron Johnson, Leslie Johnson, Roy Johnson, Leonard Johnson, Lewis Benson and Elmer Benson. Mrs. Byron Johnson and Mrs. Thomas Johnson sang at the services, Miss Sarah Anderson accompanying.
