Obituary of Mrs. Anna Henningson

Mrs. Anna Henningson was born in Nottrup, close to Horsens, Denmark, September 18, 1848 and was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church of that country. She died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Rasmus Kolling, near Ellsworth, Iowa, Sunday evening, May 18, 1927, at 7 o'clock, where she had made her home for the last 20 years. She was 78 years, 7 months and 28 days old.

She was married to Nels Henningson, Mar 27, 1875. To this union six children were born. Of these, three are dead. One died in infancy, Jenny died 1896 at the age of 21 years and Mrs. Nels Larsen, died also in the year of 1896, at the age of 20 years. Three Children are still living, namely, Henning of Omaha, Neb; Chris, or Ortonville, Minn.; and Mrs. Rasmus Kolling of Ellsworth, Iowa.

Mr. and Mrs. Nels Henningson emigrated to America in 1877. They made their home in Hamilton Co. a litle south of what is now the town of Jewll, Iowa and lived in this neighborhood until their deaths, Nels Henningson died June 6, 1904.

Mrs. Anna Henningson had two brothers, who are both dead; and four sisters, two of whom survive her, namely Mrs. Nels Peterson and Mrs. J.P. Rasmussen, both of Jewell, Iowa.

Mrs. Henningson openly confessed her belief in Jesus Christ and died in this, her faith in Him, as her only Saviour.
