Estel B. Elm, 74, Webster City, died at his residence on Thursday, July 12, 2001. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, at Trinity Lutheran Church with Revs. John Grebner and Doug Bullock-Tiffany officiating. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral Home from 5 p.m.-9 p.m. on Sunday and prior to services at th church. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery.

Estel Bernard Elm, son of Oscar and Mamie Severson Elm, was born April 27, 1929 in Webster City, Iowa. He attended Fremont School #7 and graduated from Webster City High School in 1944. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. On February 20, 1949 he married Betty Power in the Washington Lutheran Church, Duncombe. They farmed in Fremont Township for 40 years. The couple moved to Webster City in November of 1988.

Mr. Elm is survived by his wife, Betty; sons and daughters-in-law, David B. and Valorie "Jo" Elm, Iowa Falls, Dale A. and Jodi K. Elm, Blairsburg, Paul B. Elm of Webster City; daughter and son-in-law, Sally J. and Rodney L. Bernard, Clear Lake; six grandchildren, Lisa M. Elm, Iowa Falls, Matthew L. and Meribeth L. Bernard, Clear Lake, Kristin S., Austin S., and Emily J. Elm, Blairsburg; brother, LuVerne D. Elm, Webster City. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother John E. Elm.

He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Webster City, where he taught Sunday School and was a member of the Church Council for a number of years. Mr. Elm was a member of the Hamilton County Farm Bureau and taught welding in night school through a Farm Bureau program. He was also a 4-H Club leader for many years.
