Frank Springstroh was born June 26, 1859 near Berlin, Germany. He passed away at his home in Webster City, Tuesday morning, June 4. He was nearly 76 years of age.

He was baptized in the Lutheran church in Germany, and attended the schools in his home community. When about eleven years old he came to this country with his father. After spending a short time in New York they came west and settled in Milwaukee, Wis., Here he grew to young manhood.

In the spring of 1880 he was united in marriage to Annie Pierce at Boscobel, Wis. The young couple came immediately to Iowa to make their future home. With exception of two years spend in Wright county the rest of his life was spent farming in Hamilton county. He retired from active life about 15 years ago and has since made his home in this city.

Mr. Springstroh was a man of sterling qualities. He was industrious. He had made his own way in life since boyhood and had succeeded well in his vocation. He was honest and dependable in all of his dealings. He was quiet and unassuming. In his circle of friends he was loved and respected because he had proven himself a loyal friend.

He had enjoyed ordinary health for a man of his age until about six weeks ago. Since that he had failed gradually, and the last week he had been confined to his bed. His wife preceded him in death ten years ago in March. He is survied by his two daughters: Mrs Fred Jones and Mrs. James S Jones, and one step-son Herm Crouch, all of this city. There are also several grandchildren and other relatives who survive him.
