BALLPLAYER HURT
~
Eugene Yaus Seriously Injured
In a Game at Rolfe
~
(Special Telegram)
Rolfe, July 6 – Eugene Yaus was seriously injured in a game of baseball here yesterday. He was pitching for the Rolfe team. While at bat in the first inning he was struck in the left side just above the hip by a pitched ball and fell unconscious. He remained so for an hour and a half while two doctors worked over him. It was feared at the time he would never regain consciousness. He finally came to, however. His whole left side seemed to be in a state of semi paralysis. He is sitting up today, but as yet cannot walk. He will probably recover in time, but it was a close call. He lives at Webster City.
