Sandra M. Wilkinson, 71, daughter of Merle and Irene (Bailey) Slater, was born January 10, 1940 in Guthrie County, Iowa. She passed away Sunday, October 30, 2011 at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Des Moines, Iowa.
She graduated from Rock Valley High School in 1958. On April 24, 1965, she was united in marriage to Ronald Wilkinson. They lived in Ankeny, Shell Rock, Dallas Center, Webster City, Audubon, and Guthrie Center. Ronald passed away in 2001. Sandra then moved to Panora in 2002. Ever since she graduated from high school, Sandra has been doing interior design work. She worked as a Sales Representative for Warner Wall Covering. Most recently, she worked as a sales coordinator for Lakeside Village in Panora.
Sandra is survived by her son, Ian (Lynn) Wilkinson of Des Moines; daughter, Megan (Monte) Schnack of Gilbert, AZ. Grandchildren, Brandon, Kole, Brevin, Brenee, Alyssa, Haley, and Kirk. Fiancé, Gerald Pettinger of Russell, IA. Sister, Ginger Sommer of Miami, OK; and brother, Kenneth Slater of Cherokee, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ronald, and brother Jerry Slater.
Memorial services will be 3 p.m., Saturday, November 5, 2011 at Twigg Funeral Home, Panora.
Burial of her cremains will be in Dalmanutha Cemetery, rural Guthrie Center. Visitation will be two hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
