Elijah Miller, for many years a resident of Guthrie county, Iowa and faithful member of the Church of God at Glendon, after an illness of a few days died in the home of his daughter, Mrs Chad Miller near Glendon, Iowa, November 5, 1912 at the age of 72 years, 6 months and 5 days.

He was born April 19, 1840 and came west to Guthrie county from Indiana 1853. During the war of the rebellion he served 3 1/2 years as a member of Company I, 29th Iowa.

Miss V.W Cole became his wife October 29, 1865 and still survived him. To them seven children were born, three of whom are living. Eddie S.H.C. and Mrs. Chad Miller all living near Glendon. There are 15 grandchildren. In 1871 he was converted and united with the Church of God under the labor of Elder J.L. Nye and has been a believer in the faith ever since. The services were held in the Glendon Bethel and the interment took place in the Glendon cemetery on November 6, 1912.
