Plattner family around 1863 to 1900?

My great great grandfather Nicolas Plattner was born in 1832 in Switzerland. He immigrated to the US in 1857 and was married to Anna Marie Rath in 1863 in Iowa. Their children (10) Jacob, Andrew, David, Sarah, George, Anna Christina, Samuel, John, and Mary were all born in Iowa. I've seen something written that says he formed the first Presbyterian Church, but can't find anything about that or about him. All I found is something that says he was a "master gardener". If this family sounds familiar to anyone, I'd really like to hear from them. He moved to Colorado where he died around 1927 at age 95.
