Seeking descendants of Alexander FORTUNE and Abigail (maiden name ROYCE, they wed 1 Jan 1838 in Will Co, Illinois). This family came to Grundy Co, IA after the 1860 census.
They appear on 1850 and 1860 census when they lived in Town of Ela, Lake Co, Illinois. Much of the family is buried in Grundy County, Iowa in the Fairview Cemetery, Section 5, although one brother goes to Dakota territory, MInnehaha Co (and is listed on 1880 census) and is still living there by the 1900 census
