Darlene,
I have a John Blom in my family. I also have a picture of him with brothers and sisters, Henry (Hendrik), Cornie (Cornelus), Minnie (Wilhelmina), and Johanna (also known as Josie). The picture also shows John married to a Tillie (surname unknown). My GG grandmother was Johanna Blom who married William VanderWilt.
The children were raised primarily by relatives. Their father died when Johanna (the baby) was less than a year old. Father was Jan Blom, JR, mother was Aaltje Langstraat. Johanna and brother John went to live with Pieter and Johanna (VanderSluis) Blom. The other children went to live with various relatives after the death of Aaltje, when Johanna was about 3 (Johanna born in 1894). If this sounds like the family, I have some more family stories, pictures (at least 3 of all the children together, some with spouses, through the children ages 10?-mid 20's), census records, ect.
