I am working on the Krenz genealogy. Gottlieb's father was August Krenz and his mother was Johanna Draeger. August Krenz is a brother of my gggrandfather, William J. Krantz (Krenz). Gottlieb's mother, Johanna, died in Jefferson County, WI in 1894. August then lived with his children and when the children moved to Grundy County, Iowa, he came with them. August died in 1921 and his body was sent back to Jefferson, Jefferson County, WI to be buried next to his wife. I have information about Gottlieb and Kate and their children and grandchildren. Katherine Menzel was born Dec. 18, 1875 in Lake Mills, Jefferson Co., WI to Charles and Caroline (Bienfang) Menzel. She died Oct. 3, 1947 and is buried in Rose Hill Cemetery, Grundy Center, IA. Katherine married Gottlieb Krenz on Mar. 14, 1895 in Jefferson, Jefferson Co., WI. They had 2 children: Olin Q. Krenz b. Jan. 8, 1898 in Jefferson Twp, Jeff. Co., WI and died Mar 18, 1992 and is buried in Rose Hill Cemetery, Grundy Center IA. Gerald John Krenz was born Dec 14, 1904 in Colfax Twp, Grundy County, IA and died May 25, 1959 and is buried in Rose Hill Cemetery. Gerald married Bernice Hazel Groenwalb 10 Mar. 1938 in the Little Brown Church, Nashua IA. She was born 4 Mar 1914 in Grundy Co., IA. Gerald and Bernice had two children: Gene and Jerry.
