End Comes Sunday For Mrs. Jonas Shafstal

Mrs. Jonas Shafstal died at her home in Morrison Sunday morning after a long illness from cancer. She was 78 years old.

Funeral services were held at the Morrison church Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock. Rev. Jones, pastor of the Methodist church at Reinbeck, was in charge. Burial was in the Morrison cemetery.

Mrs. Shafstal's maiden name was Mary Ellen Plum. She was married to Jonas Shafstal at Forreston, Ill., April 23, 1885. They lived on a farm near Leaf River, Ill., during the first three years of their married life, after which they moved to Morrison where they made their home continually with the exception of a few years that they lived in Waterloo. They observed their golden wedding anniversary two years ago last April.

There were four children. One son died in infancy. A daughter, Mrs. Pearl McKinney, died eleven years ago. Surviving are the husband, one daughter, Mrs. Luva Dalton of Waterloo, and one son, Ray, living near Morrison. There are five grandchildren, two brothers, Jake and William Plum, and one sister, Lydia Plum.
