T. W. Copley of Reinbeck, Passes Away at Davenport Monday Morning; Brother of Mrs. W. L. Miller

T. W. Copley

Mrs. Walter L. Miller received word Monday of the death of her brother, T. W. Copley, of Reinbeck, who passed away at the home of his brother, Dick Copley, at Davenport, at three o'clock Monday morning. The body was prepared for burial and brought to Reinbeck Monday night. The funeral services were held from the United Presbyterian church of that place this afternoon, and the interment of the remains was made at Morrison.

Mr. Copley was born in Scott county, Iowa, fifty-four years ago, and lived in this county for twenty years, residing on a farm northeast of Morrison until four years ago when the family moved to Reinbeck. Last March Mr. Copley was stricken with a severe attack of heart trouble, and since that time has been confined to his bed and a trained nurse has been in attendance. About three weeks ago he was taken to the home of his brother in Davenport where he could be treated by a specialist in that particular disease, but despite the best of medical skill he grew steadily worse until the end came Monday morning.

Mr. Copley's death is mourned by the wife and six children, besides four brothers and four sisters.

T. W. Copley Dies At Reinbeck

Passes Away Monday Morning of Heart Trouble

Thos. W. Copley, a well known resident of Reinbeck, passed away at three o'clock Monday morning with heart trouble with which he had been afflicted since last March.

Mr. Copley was born in Scott county about fifty-four years ago. He came to Grundy county about twenty-six years ago and followed farming for a number of years, living for several years on a large farm which he owned northwest of Reinbeck, and a few years later he moved to another farm just sound of the town of Reinbeck, and three years ago he moved into town.

Mr. Copley was married to Mary Miller, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Miller, who lived south of Morrison for a number of years. To this union seven children were born, one boy died in infancy when the family lived in Davenport. There are two sons and four daughters living. They are: Mrs. A. J. Terrall, of Reinbeck, and Virgil, Miller, Lois, Ruth and Nina at home. There are also two grandchildren. The mother died about eleven years ago, and three years ago Mr. Copley was married to Mrs. Rederus, who, with the children, survive him.

There are also four brothers and four sisters living: John, of Reinbeck; William, Marshalltown; Henry and Richard, the latter a twin brother, both of Davenport. The sisters are: Mrs. Sutton, of Long Beach, Cal.; Mrs. Murray, Grinnell; Mrs. Pitcher, Fresno, Cal.; and Mrs. Pickens, Brooklyn, Iowa.

Mr. Copley was for many years a trustee and elder in the Presbyterian church at Morrison. He had a wide acquaintance and commanded the highest respect of all who knew him. To all he always extended a cordial greeting that lent a ray of light to brighten their pathway in the journey of life, and the large attendance at this funeral gave ample evidence that his friends were many.

Funeral services were held from the United Presbyterian church in Reinbeck, of which church he was in later years a member, at two o'clock Wednesday afternoon, Rev. Wylie, of that church, officiating. Interment was in the family lot in the Morrison cemetery.
