Kathryn Mulder Dies at Rochester

Miss Kathryn Mulder died on Tuesday evening in a hospital at Rochester. Cause of death was virus of the brain. She was stricken a week ago Sunday and her left side was paralyzed. She was at her home in Morrison when she was stricken. Shortly after she was stricken she was taken to Rochester in the French ambulance. Her father, who had been a hospital patient, returned here a few days after his daughter had been left in a Rochester hospital.

The body is being brought to the French funeral home at Reinbeck, Wednesday. Funeral arrangements have not been made.

Kathryn Mulder was 37 years old. She grew up in Grundy county and graduated from the Reinbeck high school. Later she took a nurse's training course from which she graduated. During the past ten years she served as a surgical nurse at Iowa Falls.

Rites On Friday For Miss Mulder, A Local Nurse

Funeral services for Miss Kathryn Mulder, 37, Ellsworth hospital nurse who died early Tuesday at St. Mary's hospital in Rochester, Minn., will be held at 2 p.m. Friday from the Presbyterian church in Morrison, Ia. Burial will be in Morrison.

Miss Mulder's death followed an illness of about nine days. Death was caused by a brain infection.

Miss Mulder was born on Aug. 25, 1921, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Mulder of Morrison, Ia. She had served on the staff at Ellsworth hospital about 10 years and was chief surgical nurse at the time of her death. She is survived only by her parents in Morrison.
