Mr. Hostetter Dies Suddenly
Was Stricken Last Sunday With Apoplexy and Passes Away Wednesday Afternoon
Abraham Hostetter passed away at his home in this city at one o'clock Wednesday afternoon of this week following an attack of apoplexy of last Sunday forenoon.
Mr. Hostetter was born Jan. 23rd, 1857, at New Bloomfield, Penn., and was united in marriage to Sarah Elizabeth Ebert on Sept. 17th, 1878, at Blain, that state, where they lived until moving to Grundy county in 1908. He followed farming until 1919 when they moved to this city.
There are left to mourn his passing a faithful wife and six sons and two daughters. The children are: M. Luther, Waterloo; Mrs. D. J. Stum, Reinbeck; Will, on a farm southeast of town; Mrs. C. T. Collins, Chicago; L. A., Minneapolis; and L. E., Ralph and John, of this city. There are also eleven grandchildren. One brother lives in Wayne, Nebr., and another at Akron, Ohio. One daughter passed away about six years ago.
At the time of his death Mr. Hostetter was aged 65 years, 1 month and 15 days.
Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at one o'clock from the Presbyterian church in this city, Rev. Earl W. Benbow, pastor of that church officiating. Interment will be in the cemetery at Morrison.
