Jeremiah Elliott

Jeremiah Elliott, 89, a resident of Waterloo from 1919 to 1935, died at 1:15 a.m. Saturday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. C. H. Bloomfield, 2110 Olive street, Cedar Falls. Death was caused by complications following a stroke. He had been in failing health for several months.

Born at Ulderton, Que., Can., Sept. 23, 1848, he came to Iowa as a young man. In 1880 he married Miss Artimissa Kuhns, and they lived on a farm in Grundy county until 1919, when they moved to Waterloo. Mr. and Mrs. Elliott lived in Iowa City from March, 1935, to Sept. 1, 1937, when they went to Cedar Falls to make their home with Mrs. Bloomfield.

Surviving, besides the widow and Mrs. Bloomfield, are three other daughters, Mrs. A. P. McKeen, Charles City, N. Dak.; Mrs. C. D. Hays, 533 Home Park boulevard, Waterloo; and Mrs. Mabel Lanning, Chicago. There are five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. Clinton F. Smith, Chicago, a friend of the family, at the Gange funeral home, Reinbeck, Ia., at 3 p.m. Monday. Burial will be at Morrison, Ia.
