Former Conrad Resident Dies

Mrs. Charles E. Burr, 61, of Whitten died at 10 p.m. Friday at the Deaconess hospital where she had been entered earlier in the day for treatment, having failed to respond to aid when taken ill on Sunday.

Mrs. Burr was born near Conrad, a daughter of James W. and Sarah Flickinger Sweet on Sept. 30, 1876[sic]. She was married to Mr. Burr, Nov. 23, 1898, going to Whitten where they made their home. She is survived by a son, Areha Eugene of Cedar Rapids, a brother Delbert Sweet of near Conrad, and two grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Whitten Methodist church where she attended, conducted by Rev. George Beirsborn of Liscomb. Interment in Benson cemetery.
