Mrs. Bachman Rites Held Monday

Services for Mrs. Charity Jane Bachman, 59, Albion, who died Friday afternoon at Marshalltown Community Hospital, were held Monday at the Albion United Methodist Church with the Rev. James Riley officiating. Burial was in Benson Cemetery, Whitten.

Mrs. Bachman was born Dec. 19, 1914 in Hardin county, the daughter of Ezra and Kate T. Crumbie Long. She was reared and educated in the Union-Whitten area. On June 8, 1953 in Albert Lea, Minn. she was married to Glen Bachman.

She was employed with Fisher Controls for the past 16 years.

She was a member of the Albion United Methodist Church and of the United Auto Workers.

Survivors include four sisters: Mrs. Emory (Vera) Baker, Conrad; Mrs. Archa (Mildred) Burr, Mrs. Flossie Paul and Mrs. Melvin (Vivian) Mitchell, all of Marshalltown; two children by her husband's former marriage, Mrs. Ellis (Colleen) Harmon and Mrs. Harold (Kavann) Lowry, both of Marshalltown; several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and several great-great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a sister and two brothers.

Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
