Charles Day, born at Clinton, Feb. 7th, 1836, died at his home in Whitten, Dec. 19. He was married to Laura Ingham at Washington, Iowa, Nov. 20, 1861. They moved to Grundy county following farming for several years. About eleven years ago they went to Whitten. Mr. Day was a veteran of the Civil war. There were four children born to Mr. and Mrs. Day, three of whom are living, George who lives near Conrad, Mrs. Minnie Leonard of Tracy, Minn., and Claude of Grand Rapids, Minn. The funeral was held from the M.E. Church in Whitten. Mr. Day was a member of the Mason lodge of Union who had charge of the funeral.
