Ralph William Price was born in Grundy County, near Whitten, June 23, 1893, and died January 15, 1908. He was 14 years, 6 months and 23 days old. He was the oldest of five children borne to Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Price. Ralph was a loving and dutiful child, always being thoughtful for his brothers and sisters. Ralph was a member of the young men's Bible class of the church of Christ.

Thy days my darling one, were few--
An angel's morning visit
That came and vanished with the dew--
Twa's here, ti's gone, where is it?
I cannot tell to what sweet dell
The angels may have borne thee
But this I know, thou cans't not go
Where my heart will fail to find thee
Gem of our hearth, our household pride
Earth's undefiled
Could love have saved, thou hads't not died
Our dear, sweet child!
Humbly we bow to fate's decree
Yet we hoped that time should see
Thee mourn for us; not us for thee
Yet it's sweet balm to our despair
Fond, fairest boy
That heaven is God's and thou art there
With Him in joy
There past is death and all its woes
There life's sweet stream forever flows
And rapture's day no sunset knows

Funeral services were held from the church of Christ in Whitten, conducted by Elder F. V. Kearns assisted by Rev. Cakerice, of the Brethren church. Interment in Benson cemetery. He leaves to mourn his departure his parents and two brothers and sisters. Besides many relatives and friends.
