Mrs. C. C. Murphy Died Sunday

Mrs. C. C. Murphy, age 83, died Sunday morning at 3:10 at the St. Francis hospital in Waterloo where she had been a patient since Nov. 2. Death was due to complications from advanced age.

She was born July 11, 1865, at Hazel Green, Wis., daughter of John and Mary O'Conner, and came to Grundy county with her parents in 1869. She was married to C. C. Murphy at Conrad, Feb. 19, 1884. They spent their entire married life in Grundy county farms until moving to Dike in 1916.

Her husband preceded her in death in 1937.

Mrs. Murphy was a member of St. Mary's Catholic church south of Dike.

Surviving are 2 sons, John H. of Waterloo, William A. of Dike, a daughter, Mrs. Rachel Noonan of Chickasaw, Ala., two grandsons, Louis and Vincent Murphy, 3 granddaughters, Mrs. J. B. Gilley of Philadelphia, Pa.; Mrs. Robert Gipson, Texas, Miss Sally Noonan of Alabama and two great-grandchildren, Bobby and Patsy Gipson of Overton, Texas.

Burial was held at the St. Mary church Wednesday morning at 9:30 with Rev. Fr. Justin Kress officiating; burial in the church cemetery.
