Lester Leroy Eberline, son of Fred and Elizabeth Benz Eberline, was born Aug. 11, 1894, on the Eberline farm at Wellsburg, Iowa, and passed away at a hospital in Waterloo, June 19, 1956, at the age of 61 years, 10 months and 18 days.

He grew to manhood in the Wellsburg community. On Dec. 27, 1917, he was united in marriage to Gertrude Folkerts of Bristow. To this union was born one son, Merville.

Soon after his marriage they moved to a farm east of Bristow, where he continued farming, until about 2 years ago, when he retired and moved to Bristow. He served his church in various ways as steward, as trustee, and for some time he had been president of the board of trustees.

In community affairs he was also active, having served as township trustee, and was president of the Bristow school board and telephone board for many years.

Lester was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and two brothers.

He is survived by his wife; one son; three grandchildren; two brothers, Harry of Ames and Ford of Wellsburg; three sisters, Mrs. Maud Eberline, Edna Eberline and Hazel Eberline, all of Wellsburg; and by a host of relatives and friends.
