Fred E. Volk

Fred E. Volk, 67, of 6533 Osage Road, died at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Iowa City Friday.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Raymond with burial in the church cemetery. A rosary service will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at Parrott and Wood Funeral Home.

He was born Dec. 18, 1912, in Waverly, son of Fred E. and Elizabeth Rosel Volk. He married Grace Schultz and she died in 1968.

He married Helen Costello April 4, 1970, in Raymond.

He served in the European Theater during World War II. He retired from Viking Pump in 1977.

Survivors include his wife; three sisters, Mrs. Bernita Pace of Waverly, Mrs. Lillian Waskow of Cedar Falls, and Mrs. Lenore Janszen of Arlington Heights, Ill.; two brothers, Herbert of Waverly, and Roy of Owen, Wis.

Full military rites will be conducted at the grave by the Waterloo VFW and American Legion posts. Friends may call at the funeral home at 1 p.m. Sunday.
