Bert Harlan Succumbs Saturday To Cancer

Bert Harlan, 79, who operated a harness shop in Wellsburg a couple decades ago, died Saturday in Broadlawns Hospital at Des Moines of cancer. He had been seriously ill the past five weeks.

Funeral services and burial was in Stewart, Iowa, on Tuesday afternoon.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Harley Lindaman, of Wellsburg.

Also surviving are the widow; four sons, Carl and Glenn of Santa Monica, Calif., and Joe and George of Des Moines; also another daughter, Mrs. Wilma Geerdes of Concord, Calif.

Former Resident Of Wellsburg Died Sat. At Des Moines

Funeral services for Bert Harlan, 79, of Des Moines were held Tuesday afternoon at Stuart, Iowa. Mr. Harlan, a former Wellsburg resident, died Saturday at Broadlawn General Hospital of cancer after a five week illness. The deceased was formerly in the shoemaking and harness business.

Survivors include his wife, four sons, Earl and Glenn of Santa Monica, Califonia, Joe and George of Des Moines; two daughters, Mrs. Ross Grider of Concord, California and Mrs. Harley Lindaman of Wellsburg. Four sisters and a brother also survive.
