Services For Minnie Doyen On Saturday

Funeral services for Mrs. Minnie Doyen of Pipestone, MN, were held on Saturday, August 17, 1985, at 1:30 p.m. at the First Lutheran Church in Pipestone. The interment service was held in the Holland Cemetery at Holland, MN.

Mrs. Doyen was born Wilhelmina Johanna Doyen on August 7, 1889, at Wellsburg, IA to Henry and Augusta (Runge) Neessen. She grew up in this area and attended Ellsworth College in Iowa Falls, IA. On January 18, 1914, she was united in marriage to George H. Doyen at Alden. After moving to Minnesota, they operated a grocery store in Holland, MN and later in Pipestone, MN. George passed away in 1943. Minnie was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Pipestone and very active in the church for years. Her death came on Tuesday, August 13, 1985, at her home in Pipestone, at the age of 96.

Survivors are a daughter, Margaret, Mrs. Oliver Larson of Flandreau, SD, two sons, Joe Doyen of Minneapolis, MN, and Harry Doyen of Pipestone, MN, a sister, Dena Geerdes of Pipestone, MN, 2 grandchildren, Lisa and David Doyen of Minneapolis, MN and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband, George, two daughters, and a son.

Those who attended the funeral services were Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Arends and Henry D. Geerdes of Wellsburg, Mr. and Mrs. George H. Geerdes and Gwen Burrell of Grundy Center, and Mr. and Mrs. Ken Arnote and family of Albion.
