Jacob Resser

Jacob Resser died at 3 p.m. last Friday after a short illness. His age was 60 years, 11 months and 14 days. He was an old soldier and a member of the G.A.R. having enlisted in the 146th Illinois cavalry and served three years. He has been a resident of Wellsburg for several years where he had a large circle of friends. Mr. Resser was taken sick September 26 but seemed to improve until Oct. 8th he became worse and on October 12 suffered a stroke of paralysis from which he died October 14. Funeral services were conducted at the home by Rev. Theilken at 9 a.m. Sunday and the remains taken to Whitten where services were held by Rev. Davis at 1 p.m. and the body laid to rest beside his first wife and daughter in the Whitten cemetery. He leaves a wife and mother and three sisters to mourn his loss.
