Mrs. M. M. Beach

Many Years Resident of Ackley, Died at Des Moines

Mrs. M. M. Beach, who had been a resident of Ackley all of sixty years, who removed from this city about eight years ago, to make her home with members of the family at Des Moines, died in that city Monday. Her remains were taken to Eldora, home of a sister, for interment; funeral services were held there Wednesday afternoon.

The M. M. Beach family were among the earliest of Ackley's early residents; dating from the early '70's; the several members of their family were born and reared here; the parents were prominently identified with the progress of the community, and the daughters were active in social and school life. Mrs. Beach was an energetic and prominent worker in the Presbyterian congregation through the years. She is survived by three sons, and tree daughters; Clyde and Hal., residents of Lewiston, Idaho; Mrs. Haley, near Portland, Oregon; Mrs. Henry Schultz at Boone, Ia., Mrs. A. Harold, Miss Nelle and son Lyle at Des Moines.

Several years ago, Mrs. Beach fell and broke her hip, and this interfered considerably with her active life; since that time she had not visited the old home and friends in Ackley. She was past 88 years of age, born in New York state. The many friends at home here who knew her life work, regret her death and sympathize with the family.
