W. B. Riekena died at his residence in German township, Grundy county, last Sunday Sept. 26th, 1886, aged 80 years. He was born in Twylum, Ostfrisland. He leaves a wife and seven children, four boys and three girls, the children are all married and well settled. Three years ago they celebrated their golden wedding. The funeral occurred last Wednesday at the VanderLas church South-east of town, Rev. Smith officiating. Mr. Riekena was an estimable gentleman and a highly respected citizen. His funeral was one of the largest held in that vicinity for several years, there were eighty-two conveyances in the procession.
