Rites Tuesday For Will Simms

Services for William H. Simms, 88, who died Saturday at Oakview Nursing Home were held Tuesday at the United Presbyterian Church, of which he was a member.

The Rev. Arthur Raeside, pastor, and the Rev. James Riley of Beaman officiated, and burial was in Oakland Cemetery at Beaman.

Mr. Simms had been at the nursing home a year and a half. He was born at Beaman Aug. 2, 1887, son of Serman and Isabelle Harris Simms, and married Maude M. Mills at Albion Jan. 1, 1914.

He taught school in St. James, Minn., for two years, farmed near Beaman and had lived in Conrad 30 years. He was a member of Roman Lodge AF&AM No. 564 and a member of Pi Kappa Alpha social fraternity and Alpha Zeta agricultural fraternity at what is now Iowa State University.

Surviving are his wife; one son, Paul M. Simms, Beaman; a sister, Mrs. Edward (Bess) McCoy, Marshalltown; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Two sons and a brother preceded him in death.
