Obituary Notice

Earnest J. Hess died at Alice, Grundy County, March 14th, 1888, of lung trouble aged 17 years, 4 months and 4 days. He was the son of F. C. and Tabitha Hess. The subject of this notice was a model young man for his age and he was kind and obliging. During the protracted meetings held at Alice last winter he sought the Lord Jesus Christ in the pardon of his sins and died in Christian faith. The funeral services took place at Alice church on Friday March 16th at 2 o'clock p.m. A large concourse of people were in attendance to sympathize with the bereaved family. Elder J. C. Kepford officiating after which the remains were carried to their last resting place in Alice Cemetery.
