Cedar Falls--Lois N. Doddema Petersen, 84, of Cedar Falls, died Monday, April 22, 2013, at Western Home Communities Windermere.

She was born August 24, 1928 in Denver, Colorado, daughter of James F. and Minnie M. (Montgomery) Smith. She married Elso Doddema on August 22, 1945 in Littleton, CO. He died July 7, 1988. She married Leslie Petersen on September 5, 1992 in Cedar Falls. He died January 28, 2003.

She was a homemaker throughout her adult life; was a member of Fredsville Lutheran Church and Dike American Legion Auxiliary.

Survived by: four daughters, Hazel Griffiths of Brooklyn, IA, Shirley Bradford of Dike, Carol Crouse of Des Moines, Patricia (Robert) Biersner of Dike; five stepdaughters, Sandra (Jerrold) Christensen of Dike, Shari (Gary) Schrage of Parkersburg, Bonnie Doty of Oelwein, Connie (David) James of Hazelton, and Joan (Richard) Frisch of Cedar Falls; five grandchildren, Michelle (Kurt Walters) Bradford, Amy (Rob) Renes, Seth (friend, Rachel Palen) Biersner, Nick (Ashley) Biersner, and Steven Crouse; two great-grandchildren, Cole Hoing and Caleb Renes; numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: four brothers and four sisters.

Memorial Services: 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Fredsville Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls, with inurnment in Elmwood Cemetery, Dike. Visitation for one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church. Richardson Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to donor's choice.
